Hand-built vintage
tone + inventive imagination = Great Amp sound and flexibility.
This is not just a re-creation of what is possibly the greatest
guitar amp of all time -- The Fender 1959 Tweed Bassman, but is a
logical and sonic evolution that combines the best of the Bassman™ and
Jim Marshall's inspiring JTM 45 Plexi Marshall™. Sporting
either 6L6, 5881, or EL-34 power tubes, adjustable fixed bias, 4
ten inch speakers, and a tube rectifier wrapped in a combo package,
this
amp
design combines some of the greatest sounds in the history of
Rock-and-Roll. The basic circuit design of this amplifier gave
rise to
the Tweed and Blackface Twins, the Blonde and Blackface Bassman,
the early
Marshall, Park, Hiwatt and Orange amps and provided the standard of
excellence that guitar amps have shot
for since. This amp is the result of a mating of the best of both the
'59 Bassman™ and Plexi Marshall™ worlds. Add in a post-phase
inverter master volume, top-shelf components, proven
point-to-point
wiring techniques, and you've got a true treat!!
All Campbell Sound amps are assembled and tested individually by hand.
This is an amplifier that will sound terrific right out of the box and for decades to come.
Give it a listen:
(These sound files were
produced by mic'ing the amp (with 5881 power tubes) from 1' in front
and running the mic
through a Tascam Mixer into the computer and saving the sound file in a
QuickTime or RealAudio small file format using Sound Studioor RealAudio
Producer. Believe
me, the amp sounds *MUCH* better in person!)
